The long-time friend in London England who I mentioned in the newsgroup yesterday, asked for my phone number in his reply to me so that he could call me to talk. He *used* to have my phone number, but when his old computer died he lost a lot of information.
Anyway, I emailed him before heading off to bed at 3 AM (yes, I was up that late do to worrying about Matthew's job loss and all) and gave him my phone number again, asking him NOT to call right then because I was going to bed. LOL So at about 9:30 AM the phone rang and Matthew picked it up. He couldn't understand the person on the phone, but finally got that he wanted to talk to me... I (of course) thought immediately of bill collectors (I just *love* where my mind goes when the phone rings... not that it could be a friendly voice on the other end to chat, but rather that it's someone looking for money.). When I picked up the phone I thought I recognized the voice, but the words were coming very choppy... the connection was horrible. However it was Tony, my London friend calling to let me know that he really is alright and not just saying so in an email. :o)))
It was a good start to my day! :o)

Oh... apparently he has some kind of special phone deal where he has either unlimited calls abroad, or maybe not unlimited but a LOT of time on it... because we spoke for a good half hour. :o)
