v-e-r-y OT: just for FUN

For the two morons who always ask, what's the purpose of this question?... I'll spell it out sss=lll=ooo=www=lll=yyy (because I know you can't read fast, LOL!)

T h e r e i s N O p u r p o s e, i t i s f o r F U N !!

Onward to it then: What are 10 things you'd like to do or acquire within this lifetime??? I'll even start.

  1. Build another Harpsichord.
  2. Build another surrey.
  3. Visit the Holy Land.
  4. Sell my glow in the dark needles to a big company.
  5. Vist the last few states I've not been to yet.
  6. To not have any funerals to attend.
  7. Get the Kromski wheel I'm coveting
  8. Take a BareFoot Cruise line cruise.
  9. See war be outlawed worldwide.
  10. Physically meet my online friends.

YOURS???? Noreen :)

I can add MORE:

  1. Learn to play the Dulcimer
  2. Build a Dulcimer
  3. Have a flower species named after me.
  4. Have a star named after me.
  5. Find a good cache while metal-detecting with DH.

Take a Greenland cruise. When I was a teenager I wanted to visit the Holy Land and Rome. Neither has any attraction for me now :-(

Live to see all my great grandchildren

Physically meeting on-line friends isn't always successful :-( Still, one bad one out of scores of good ones is worth the risk :-)

I like funerals - any excuse for a party :-)

I'd like to manage to use all my stashed yarn and be able to justify buying the beautiful new ones which are now available (vowed not to buy ANYTHING until the rest is used!)

Die in my husband's arms, or have him die in mine. Ideally both together.

Answer ALL my flagged messages

As I've aged I've found that I want less and less ...

A good wake is a worthwhile memorial.

Non-traumatically.

S.A.B.L.E. applies to more than yarn, and that pretty much covers my ten things.

Here is my list:

  1. Minimize human activates that contribute to global warming.
  2. Develop and popularize technologies that minimize additional global warming.
  3. Develop and popularize technologies that allow humans to survive the effects of global warming. And, just for fun,
  4. Pay taxes.

Global warming is coming much faster than the media or Gore or the IPCC are reporting, and the effects are not going to be nearly as much fun as "Paying Taxes". Knitting fast and tight is part of task 3.

These "morons who always ask, what's the purpose of this question" exist only in your mind. If you want to see an actual moron, look in the mirror.

It's definitely worth the risk. I've had the pleasure of meeting in person four people from this group. There are several others whom I hope to meet in the future.

That's not kind.

I met a now-good-friend after we became exchange partners on a Yahoo group. We now meet up once a year at a knitting camp in Colorado, where I've also met other good friends of hers. I met another woman who is also a skating fan (like I am) through a Usenet group. We have been to a number of skating competitions together, along with a bunch of other women. It was fun.

Neither was the first comment, if you want to get into it. Totally unnecessary.

And JJ and I enjoyed meeting Jan. We got together for coffee when she flew out to our area. Then she met Els in BC later. We had much to talk about even though we had only known each other online. By the way, she does really lovely work!

RE: meeting online "friends" in person:

Just be careful. Sometimes, they turn into lunatic stalkers.

just as likely as someone you know IRL becoming a lunatic stalker. none of the online friends i've met have been anything but wonderful (including the guy from Australia i invited to stay at my house for a week). i have, however, had

*2* lunatic stalkers & neither one has a computer (thankfully!). one took 5 moves through 3 states to lose & the other i turned over to the FBI... real loons! lee

I met my two different on-line friends "in public" and in the presence of others for the first time. I'm sure they wanted to make sure I wasn't a lunatic either. ;>)
