OT: GeoBear Status

Hi Guys, I received another e-mail from Lena in Sweden. She said she mailed GB to Dawne (in Saskatchewan, Canada) the day the Icelandic volcano erupted. She said that the package likely made it through the postal system in Sweden within a day or two but by the time it was ready to be sent back across the pond, air traffic in north western Europe was shut down. IIRC, she said that flights were back up and running middle of last week so he should be showing up on Dawne's door step any day now. Dawne will send him to Sheena (in Nova Scotia) and then he will likely have to Betsy (my DSis in TX) and then back to Raechel. Even if Dawne receives him today and then she & Sheena only keep him for a day, it will still take all of this week to get through the postal system, etc. He is due back to Raechel's teacher by 10 May, I think. That means there would only be a week for the package to go from Sheena to Betsy and then on to Lizard Land. I am going to phone Betsy and see if she still wants to be the last host. She doesn't have a digital camera nor does she have a printer so it might be to difficult for her to get photos of GB taken, etc. If that's the case, then GB can go to Joan (in ND asnd the next person on the list) and she can send him back to Lizard Land. I will let you know what Betsy (in TX) says. So DAWNE, please let up know ASAP when GeoBear arrives, OK? Also, I need to ask Roberta (in Germany) and Lena (in Sweden) to send me any photos of GB so that I can add them to his Webshots album.

He's certainly had some adventures!

On the radio this morning was an item about a bunch of Kent school lids (from Gravesend Grammar School. They flew out to Iceland the day the volcano went up, and saw it as they vame in to land. They got an extra three days on their Geography field trip, and got within 7 miles of the volcano on the ground, and saw some extra glaciers. They and their teacher arrived home safe yesterday. I have to say I am jealous! MY A level geography field trips were a lot more boring than that!

The e-mail must be in the ether somewhere because I never received it!! Could you please send me the photos separately? That way I just copy them directly into Webshots. The text of the journal pages won't upload to Webshots which is a bummer :-(! Thanks bunches & CiaoMeow >^;;^<
