OT: Going so fast!

The crew working at our home is soooo good and fast. I chose right. I'm glad. I woke up a couple days ago with a sore throat and now it's gone to my chest. I have zero energy to keep up with anything. I'm pretty much lying on the sofa drinking hot tea and cold water. LOL I keep feeling I should be kicking up my heels because I'll be able to take a shower by Friday afternoon. Probably. But the way I feel, my heels are sticking pretty close to the ground.

The yards look like bombs have gone off. And they had to take our fence down to get the crane in close enough to place the new tank. Sigh. Jo can only be at the boarding kennel through Friday so I don't know what we'll do until my three men can get the fence back up and Jojo safe.

The end is finally in sight. Relief is enormous. I do know that I ran myself a good bit ragged putting all this together and that I'm paying for it now physically. Tomorrow I'm probably heading to my dr. and telling him to give me the magic 'breathe again' shot. LOL

Hugs to all of you. Polly, I've been horrified by the ruins left in Yazoo City and I'm grateful that you don't live closer to the tornado's path. Many years ago I and a photographer chased a deadly tornado across the Arkansas River delta as it cut back and forth. It destroyed a little town called Hamburg -- cut across in almost a perfect X. We were caught at one point and nearly got washed off the road. When I think about the utter stupidity of the two of us out chasing a massive, roaring tornado in a Chrysler K car (remember those?) .... well I guess if the young aren't allowed to be stupid then the old would have to be.

Great news, Sunny. Go easy on yourself; all of this stress has probably worn you right down. They'll soon be finished and you can take that long-awaited hot shower.

I used to do that, Sunny. NOT chase tornados but I remember being steady as a rock during a crisis and then collapsing when it was survived. Go ahead and collapse; you have earned it. As to Yazoo City, our local media are calling for all manner of volunteers. I'm sure the highways leading north from here are loaded with help; we know well what it means. Our personal all-time favorites will be the Royal Canadian Mounties ( I hope I said that right) and the Florida Highway Patrol on 3-wheelers (we didn't even have roads, you know.) They came here to stop the incoming looters and they didn't even know where the jail was. We don't know what they did with the vultures. Don't ask, don't tell . . . you know? Polly

i'm still amazed that the pieces of shit who consider themselves members of the human race who are so disgusting as to steal from folks who have survived tornados or hurricanes but lost their home and everything they owned that was precious to them. who cares where the cops sent them or did with them. the world is better off without them. j.

Glad to hear the news on the fixes Sunny. Sorry about the sore throat and all. Don't know if you like Ginger or not, but I had the starts of one of my migraines on Saturday. Mostly from the weather change. Anyways, Bert grated about a teaspoon of ginger, heated a cup of water, stirred in the ginger and let is sit for a few minutes and then spooned most of the pulp out. It was pretty strong but it really soothed my throat and the heat and clearning of it went up into my head and down into my chest. It felt really good. Ginger is supposedly good to decrease or end minor migraines and have sinus/cold clearing qualities. Just thought that I would pass it on. It didn't cure it all, but it sure helped me a bit.

FTL Sh*t Shovelling! The very best sort! ;) They sound like a good crew. And repairing the garden to usefulness will keep the boys out of trouble... :D

You take care and be well ASAP.

Count-down to shower time!! Or will it be a long soak in the tub with lavender bath oil and candles and a good book? You've done so well getting through this - you deserve a break at last. Allison

So sorry you are feeling yucky but, so happy for the rest of your news about the big project going so smoothly. The stress of it all probably didn't help you at all. I hope you feel better soon so you can enjoy that warm water shower! Donna
