OT: Grandson is here.

The little Skeeter arrived today at 12:11. 7 lbs. 6 oz., 19.5 inches long.

I am sick with strep and couldn't go. But thanks to cell phones I got to keep up very well. I am expecting a photo any minute now.

DD called me *herself* at 12:30 and said "Can ya hear him?" And I could hear him squalling away. So I got to *hear* him when he was only 15 minutes old.

I'm telling you, it is absolute torture not to take off and drag myself up there, sick or not. If it wasn't for being contagious and I might make other people sick, I'd go anyway.

Congratulations Grandma! It's great to hear them cry, but even better when you get to cuddle them -- sorry you don't get to do that yet, but it'll happen soon!

congrats on the new arrival. i'm glad you've the smarts to not go visit anyone there when sick. i had DS #1 as a planned homebirth, all went well til stupid SIL shows up with a cold and says, oh i wont hold him, just wanna see him and say hi. well within a few days DS also had the sniffles when no one else in the house or who had come around had shown up with any health issues, so had to be her, argh. we had to get the DR around to see him. those wee tiny noses dont handle snot well at all. i havent likee her since i first met her. to this day she has not changed, still annoying in the extreme. i used to think it was just how i thot about her but recently her older brother who has lived in Oz for yrs and came back to see MIL 2 weeks before she passed away then returned again for the funeral had dinner with her one evening and when recounting the evening wondered why she was so strange. not a good or interesting strange like most of us, just off the wall, out there somewhere, annoying strange. oh well.

anyhow, congrats and welcome to the world Little Skeeter!!!! j.

Congratulations, Sherry! :) What a shame that you're sick -- but I'm betting that you'll be there lickety-split as soon as you're once again healthy.

Congratulations from me too. And thank you on behalf of all the world for staying Away from them until you are sure and certain that you aren't contagious, have no clue how long that takes. I heard recently on a tv med report that the Swine flu sufferers can infect others as much as 12 days After they've had fever. Now, doesn't that just pop your cork? Polly

Many congrats, Sherry! So sorry you've been sick. Since this post is a few days old, I'm hoping you've recovered enough in the meantime to go cuddle your new grandson.

Best regards, Michelle in Nevada
