OT: I'm back.....

Just checking in after floods and cyclones. A couple of days after the cyclone hit north Queensland DH and I set off on a motoring holiday down south. In all the action I didn't have time to post a message saying all was fine with me.

On Feb 2nd we drove down the coast highway from the Gold Coast (where I live, just south of Brisbane where the big floods were.....) to Sydney, a distance of about 750km. It was a slow trip with roadworks every 20 km or so it seemed - general highway upgrades and repairs to damaged roads from floods in NSW - a separate rain event caused by the cyclone rain depression moving down the continent inland. We had fine weather in Sydney staying with friends and enjoying a couple of swims in the sea. From there we drove to Canberra (seat of the federal government) to enjoy art galleries and a concert. Three nights later onto Melbourne via a little town on the river Murray which forms the state line between NSW and Victoria where we stayed for two nights, again with friends. On to Melbourne to stay with my sister. Victoria has also battled floods and heavy rains, but we managed to avoid any trouble-spots.

We arrived back home last Friday to hot and steamy weather, but at least it is not raining.

Hugs to everyone, I'll get back to some quilting shortly, with the airconditioner on full throttle. Bronnie
