OT: Impulse actions

In Pahrump. And yes, we've been getting a lot of wind lately. I'm trying to grow tomatoes for the 3rd year. A gardening article in the Vegas paper said in order for the plants to have enough time to set fruit before it gets too hot, they've got to be in the ground by March

1. Since then, I've had to cover them several times due to temps near freezing, and they've been beat to death by the wind 5 or 6 times in the last 2 1/2 weeks. They're hanging in, but we'll see.

That's true. I'm pretty happy when the temps hit about 90-95. :-)

I'm about a half hour or so south of Barstow. We should try to get you Vegas area folk to drive down and get Debi and Ginger to drive over for a meet up here. Anyone up for that? TAria

How long a drive is that, Taria? I might be up for it, especially if I could make it over and back without driving in the dark. ;)

Road trip!!!!

I recall fondly the road trip Linda C, and Karen Johnson and I did many years ago, from Woodland Hills, San Francisco, and Lompoc. We had adjoining rooms in a Motel 6 [Linda C was a smoker], ate at a little out-of-the-way seafood restaurant, did a S.E.X. trip in San Luis Obispo, dropped in with a half hour notice to visit my dad [he thought that was hilarious], walked the pier in Pismo Beach. Karen had granted herself a weekend away from caring for her DH. Linda C left her criminal cases for two days, I took time away from my jail position.

Oh that is a lovely idea! But drat, even though I'm not very far away from Las Vegas, it's next to impossible for me to get over there. I help care for my elderly grandparents, along with other family obligations, and scheduling time away is tough. :-(

I doubt I would be able to make it. But if you gals do it, I expect a FULL report!

Duh! I mis-read the proposed "meet up" location, but it doesn't change anything for me. Definitely can't make it. :-(
