OT: Jack in the Box

Another sick commercial from JITB. Shown during the world series were children watch with their families. =20

Jack peaks his head out to the kitchen and says to his wife "Call the doctor! It's been over 4 hours!"

Of course kids are gonna ask questions but I sure wouldn't=20 want the time to talk about sex to children because of JITB!

Provided their company email if you want to address them. I've sent them a letter already just to let them know that because of this commercial, I'm boycotting JITB for life. Tired of this kind of garbage and it's just getting worse and worse! I don't even want to think what it might be

10 years down the road. =20

Gosh! What did I miss? It never occurred to me that this commercial was sex-related.

Once again, I'm made completely grateful that I haven't had television reception in my home for ... 7 years now. Watched while we visited the in-laws. Saw enough to last me another 7(0) years. It's all crass and crude and a lot of it is downright gross and disgusting.

i am so jealous of you Sunny! i would be Very Happy if there was no TV in the house. DD and BF have aquired a tv for their bedroom and she is not happy it's there. i truly think that when i get my own place again, TV will not be on my "must have" list. i would be very happy with my computer and sewing machines. saves on electric too. and makes more time for quilting.

Good for you. On my list of things I'd change if I had a "do-over" with raising children, I'd limit TV time and especially video game time. I'm still proud of my kids and they turned out well, but hindsight is clear. The video game thing was in early stages back then, and it definitely was not good the amount of time they spent on them.

I like watching TV in the evenings, but we were just talking about how there's nothing on to watch except violence, death, autopsies, stupid reality shows on network. If we did not have cable to have an alternative from the network shows we probably wouldnt have a tv either.

It makes me wonder sometimes that the writers have terribly sick minds to even think up all the different ways people can be murdered, tortured, etc. None of us need that stuff in our brains.

We still have TV and basic cable (we'd get nothing without it). However, we don't watch it much. DH likes to watch the evening news and some news on Sunday mornings. Also some sports, though with basic cable, we don't get ESPN, etc. We do like some of the PBS programs and the occasional video.

Sadly, some of these shows mimic real life crimes, murders, etc. Law & Order does that a lot. The writers don't have to be sick, people are sick enough.

I was raised on TV and I've always had it around. There is more than what you mentioned on TV. History, DIY shows, educational shows, etc.

Yes, indeed. We love the biography channel, the history channel and Ovation. Lifetime network is pretty tame usually, too. I watch and support PBS. (What I was mostly thinking about was ABC, NBC and CBS. If we didn't have satellite TV, that's all we would be able to pick up) Sherry

well, i had basic cable in my old house, i just loved PBS and was a supporter. Here, however, we have dishTV and the options to watch are almost unlimited! I was used to so much quiet a my own house, that hearing the TV alllllllll dayyyyy, gets on my nerves. Just wish i could turn on a radio and sew all day. I'm going to hit up a few

2nd hand stores this afternoon to see if i can find an appropriate desk/table to set up on. maybe then i can regain my calm.
