OT: Just touching base

I have been reading and keeping up with everyone, but haven't been posting in a while. Things have been wonky here. Over 24" of snow starting Friday evening and continuing through to Saturday. Be.tween the 2 of us, hubby and I got half the driveway cleared out - the half behind the van. He changed his vacation so that it starts tomorrow instead of Wednesday because, well, the snow had to go somewhere, so it went behind his car.

Tomorrow is already set - doc appointment with my son to check his medication and get the Rx issued. Following that, if everything goes as we need it to, we will go to the next town over to get a replacement pair of glasses frames. Right now, he's wearing his old pair (incorrect Rx) because he snapped one of the nose pieces off his correct pair. Lucky for him, mom keeps all the papers in 1 file, so I was able to find the 1-year replacement paperwork. Phew!

Tuesday there is actually nothing planned, so I might start the sewing lessons - we did the baking today (4 dozen cookies and 2 different batches of brownies).

Wednesday morning, both kiddos get to take some valium, then we load them in the van and take them over to have teeth removed. Thomas has now learned why he needs to brush his teeth (funny, he did that as a science fair project back in kindergarten, so not sure why he didn't remember) because the tooth he's getting pulled is a baby tooth that has a cavity in it. Sweet Bek (who hasn't been so sweet lately) has to have 2 teeth pulled because her adult teeth are coming in behind the baby teeth. This go round she is having the 2 teeth on either side of lower center taken out, and later on, she will have to have her 2 lower canines pulled out. Hopefully this will help her teeth come in a little better, though she might still need braces later on. We have plans for them to have macaroni and cheese and applesauce for dinner that night, followed by ice cream.

So....that's what is going on around here. I'm trying to get some new patterns worked out and am going to try to get a crib bumper and dust ruffle made for a friend, but who knows when I will actually get that finished.

Larisa, only somewhat snowed in now

Uh oh. Larissa, you need to know before the teeth are pulled: Where is the dentist going to be over the Christmas holidays? and what can you do if you have a bleeding problem with either/both young ones? Our DS had to have 6 teeth pulled to keep his teeth from looking like a bunch of carrots wadded together and we did indeed have to go back for some help from the dentist about the bleeding. End of story: DS has a beautiful smile now but it was not easy. SO! don't let that dentist disappear and leave you in a mess.

The appointments are first thing in the morning, and they have said that they will call in the afternoon to check on them, which I think is nice. I will verify that with them when we get there. We are only about 15 minutes from the office, our regular dentist, and the hsopital, so if anything happens, we should be able to get them "somewhere" to have it looked at/dealt with.

I'm hoping that they take after me....when my wisdom teeth were taken out, it bled for about 10 minutes, then stopped and the swelling was down the next day....hoping and praying....
