OT Louisiana students

Thought you might enjoy knowing that the city of Munich (Germany) invited 3 university students from New Orleans to study here for a semester while their own school gets back up and running. The invitation came with tuition and 3 nice rooms at the student "village". I met them at our club meeting today, and they said they were fully booked for the holidays too. Roberta in D

Wonderful. hubby's college (his new employer) had scholarships (tuition, housing, all) set up for some of the misplaced students as well --- unfortunately, one was in a car accident not long after the start of term and has had to miss a lot of classes -- The school did a fund raiser for him and the other student injured and last I had heard they were doing a lot better.

As far as I know, the other students have settled in well (although I do wonder what they think of last night's snow closing down the college and the local schools today)

It's great to hear how everyone around the world is helping these individuals.

Not just Louisiana students. Here in Mississippi, DH has been offered a very generous grant from a university. I don't know how many great-grandfathers have been given such an opportunity. They didn't even contact me. And his application (he didn't make one) for rent assistance has been approved. Hummph! I wasn't charging him rent. Polly
