OT Need Adobe Pagemaker help

I'm putting together a CD jacket, and I can't get my pictures to print in color. I've gone to the print menu, and *think* I'm telling it to print in color, but my pictures keep coming out in B & W. Seems like it should be simple, but apparently....? I'm finding the Adobe Help to be of little or no help at all, so any assistance will be much appreciated.

Thanks! Michelle in NV

I don't know Pagemaker... but I do know that you need to check both your application and your printer settings... as the problem could be in the settings in either location.

Hi Kate,

I'm really stumped. I've checked my printer settings and my Adobe settings. Both *look* right. I'm beginning to think they just don't like each other. ;-) Hmmmm. I appreciate the suggestion!

Hi Michelle, I hate to sound like the conspiracy freak that I probably am...but....Abdobe is trying sooo hard to completely phase out Pagemaker. It conflicts with practically everything made since Indesign came out. It makes me so angry--I love Pagemaker & keep my old (2002 or so) printer & Imac *solely* to run Pagemaker for my newsletters and graphic stuff. Is this a printer that you've always used for color printing from PM? Has it worked okay before?

Also, Michelle, are you placing the pics into your PM document as jpegs? You could try placing them as tiffs or a pict. Sometimes the quirkiest things will work. On the old Macs, rebuilding the desktop, zapping the PRAM, or just restarting would fix the weirdest things, after you'd spent hours trying everything else.

Hi Sherry,

I just bought the Adobe Pagemaker 6.5 on ebay (a week or so ago). It is new program disc, not used, but obviously not the latest edition--didn't need anything fancy. I don't think you sound paranoid at all because I was going to contact Adobe for support, and they refuse to support version

6.5. Anyway, the program works fine except for this color printing issue. Hmmph!

Thanks! At least I don't feel like I'm nuts. :-)

Hi Sherry,

You're right, I'm using jpegs, except for one tiff. I'll see if I can try a pict. Good suggestion. I see what you're getting at.
