OT - okay, everybody, here's the question

Can ANYone on here get through to me at my email address?

Or is EVERYone being bounced?

Something just doesn't look quite right, and I need facts. I've emailed my isp but I have a feeling I'm going to have to track down a phone number and talk to them in person. I want to at least sound like I know something. lol

I know I have emailed you and it went through. Do I need to test again? Paulette

Yes, please, if you don't mind. I suspect perhaps some of you who got through on that day, got through before they flagged me. Perhaps.

Liz, Polly, and Pat on her hill, all got through. I just don't get it. Why are some people bouncing with a message that I am a spammer or some such thing. hmmm.

It's probably each individual person's JunkMail and SPAM settings on their computers. One of the words in the subject might be triggering your SPAM finder.

My computer will throw an email into the JunkMail folder if the same topic is coming back and forth very often. ("Often" meaning like several times within a minute.)

Karen I had sent you a little 'thank you' reply when I got the directory, and it did not bounce. Did you get the note?

The problem is people getting through to me, not me getting through to them. When I did the test emails, and when out sent out the Directory, only one of them bounced. But now I'm hearing that some people can't send email to me.

Then it might be your settings on your computer.

I have mine set NOT to outright reject any emails. I get them all and some go to the JunkMail folder.

I could go to my ISP and change the settings so that they reject some emails. I prefer to control it from my email software rather than through the ISP server. Maybe your ISP has something like that and it is preventing emails from getting to you. Your ISP might be checking subjects for those keywords. One of the words used to be "hi" because that's the way a lot of spammers caught a person's attention. It looks innocuous and friendly. I mean, who wouldn't open an email that has "Hi!" or "Hello!" in the subject. I haven't even checked that word list lately.

Sounds like your computer virus software or your ISP thinks the incoming mail is SPAM, not that you are a spammer.

After many trials that bounced because Thunderbird kept putting all kinds of quotation marks, etc., in your e-mail address when I just did a "Reply-to", I finally think I got one that didn't bounce. I finally put your name in my address book. Then I did a "reply-to" and took out all the blanks, quote marks, and the slash that showed up in your e-mail address. I also put your address from my address book in, so you may get two copies of the message. Did you get either or both? In my "Sent" file, the ones that bounced had all kinds of quotation marks in them. No wonder they didn't get through.

OK, I am sending this one straight from Free Agent, which means it will route through my isp instead of Google, even though the return addy is google. I can try sending from gay.com and Yahoo too if you think it a good notion.

gmail sends seem to sometimes go through and sometimes not. Maybe your isp has changed or added keywords in its spam filters?

Karen, I just sent you a message from my G-mail account and it told me it had been sent. Will check in a bit to make sure I don't get a bounce notice. If I do I will post info here. Hope this gets solved soon.
