His fever is down to reasonable levels. He's doing better and better every hour now. His wound is draining well, and I'm doing warm compresses on it, giving him his antibiotics on time, and force-feeding him baby food! (That last cracks me up.)

There is no way in HELL I am handing him over to anyone unless ordered to by a judge. It's over. Merc will be staying. I call a lawyer on Monday morning, first thing. We've been walking a lot, and I think I'm now in good enough shape stamina-wise to keep him fulltime. In fact, screw it -- no way am I able to live with the crap he's dealing with at his other (non)home. I have been pushed too far now.

I am so glad its an abcess and nothing worse, I'm sure he'll soon be up and around again.
