OT Report on problems of this morning.

Dave is home feeling a little stiff but OK. The doctor told him that he would hurt worse tomorrow so to keep taking the Tylenol for several days.

The plumbing problem is the line to the refrigerator, both the drinking water and the ice maker. That line was closed for now so the remainder of the house can have water. The plumber will return tomorrow morning to fix the problem. Dave helped me move the file cabinets to the laundry room. He took down the damaged ceiling so the plumber can reach the pipes. The two pieces of wallboard meeting at the corner and the damaged ceiling will have to be replaced.

Many things to be thankful for today. Both car accident and plumbing problem could have been much worse. Really appreciate how easy the new flooring is to clean.

Susan, so sorry to hear of Dave's altercation in the auto - how awful, it's just the shock of it and thinking of worse outcomes.....that tall frame of his will be stiff for a while for sure. Give him our best wishes. And plumbing problems are a pain too - particularly in your climate. Good luck with getting that getting all fixed. Cheers from us both Bronnie & DH

Oh mercy, I know how distressing a leak like that can be! Your damages are obviously much worse than what happened to me a couple of weeks ago, and that was plenty stressful for us! The clothes washer was running, and we were sitting in the living room, when we heard the unmistakeable sound of water gushing out of a broken pipe. The hot water hose to the washing machine had burst, and the shut-off valve was jammed, so we turned off the water heater to reduce the water pressure on the leak and drained the water heater into buckets. It was resolved in less than five minutes, but the water flooded out over about a third of our floorspace. Rapid deployment of every towel and tablecloth in the house prevented it from soaking the bedroom carpet more than a foot into the bedroom or causing any other significant damage.

I thought I was going to have a heart attack, the adrenalin was so high! I'm glad your damages were limited, and that it wasn't a more crucial line so you can keep it turned off for the time-being. I know it must be awful for you, with your husband sick, too! Take care of yourself!

I'm glad to hear the outcome of both situations was somewhat favorable. You have enough going on without adding all this!

The dr wasn't kidding about feeling worse tomorrow; be vigilant about Dave's taking the Tylenol. So glad, Susan, that the plumbing wasn't a major disaster and that you really do have a plumber that will come tomorrow. Thank you for giving us an update. Polly

Poor Dave. Keep him on the couch with the remote and a hot drink. I can't imagine having a leak at this time of year! Keep us posted. Hugs, amy in CNY

First, I am so thankful that your DH wasn't hurt, and that you can sit today and be thankful that it all worked out okay. Our icemaker plumbing ruined the kitchen ceiling too. Before all the water in the attic soaked through the ceiling and actually started dripping, I had noticed the ice cubes were getting smaller, but it didn't "click" that something bad was wrong up there. Hang in there, and hope your insurance claim goes smoothly too.

(((((HUGS))))) and positive thoughts are on their way to you. Glad to hear your DH is home safely - thinking positive thoughts for him AND your plumbing! At this time of the year (Holidays and Winter) you folks do NOT need this! ME-Judy

Oh dear Susan, I apparently missed the initial post about the car accident and plumbing problem. Very thankful your DH is okay, and the plumbing issue is under control.

Try not to work too hard (I know, easier said than done.)
