Hi all,
I drove up to Inverness today, in order to pick up Mark's Christmas present. I have already bought a nice sling for the baby, but Mark declares that it is "too hippy" and he does not intend to use it. I suppose I could just go out for the day, leave him with a small baby, and then inquire when I returned home how he enjoyed not being able to get anything done the entire day? Or use his hands to do anything?
However, he did say he had fond memories of being carried in a backpack style child-carrier, and I found a lovely one in great condition (though used) on Ebay for a fantastic price. But it was located in Inverness and was labeled "local pick-up only".
The drive took 3 hours there, and 4 hours back (lots of lorries on the road, and in pairs, so impossible to overtake on the A9) and the leaves were changing colour, the air was crisp, the sun was shining... it wasn't too unpleasant actually. Perhaps my last long drive by myself! Being able to stop when I felt like it to use the loo, etc may soon be an unavailable option. Baby is 26 weeks old now, and slept through the whole thing. Usually Baby is active in the late afternoon, but the noise and the motion must have put it to sleep today.
The present is taped up. Just need to find a big enough piece of wrapping paper for it now! Mark is intrigued and desperate to know, but will be good and not open it.....
