old member would liek to pick up again

Hi, my name is Sonya and I use the user name "sunnyjoe." I used to be acti ve in rctq before I had my kids. I'm finaly getting back into quilting and would like to participate here and on Facebook. I sent a request to join the facebook group. Is there anything I need to do besides wait? I'm just now finishing up my "Strolling the Block" quilt that I did with RCTQ member s in 2002! Better late than never?

Thanks!

Like you, I recently got back into quilting. I was active in RCTQ (as Singer/Singermom) for years. I sent a friend request to the Facebook group months ago and never heard back. Can anyone who is in the Facebook group let us know the secret to joining?

Thanks!

I'm considering getting back into quilting also. Not on the scale as in years past, but maybe one quilt or lap quilt a year. I just joined the FB page tonight. :) One of the reasons I stopped quilting was they were piling up in the closets and in the dressers. We were running out of space to store them. Everyone in the family had one or more already. Buyers want them for next to nothing so only a few were sold.

Sometimes people start groups on FB and then simply abandon them.

I wonder if part of the waiting is while the administrator checks who you are as its a moderated site. Most people here are known by a non-de-plume which is completely different to their real name or the one they use on Facebook and sometimes a message is put out 'Does anyone know who this is?'. There is someone who joined recently under a completely different name and I am still waiting for the penny to drop though other people seem to have guessed straightaway!

Hello! I'm "- dlm." and I used to post as "- dlm." on RCTQ many years ago. Through this fabulous group, I met many people, one of whom I still keep in close contact with. As I am finally addressing my numerous UFOs as well as uncut/unwashed/unused fabric, I'm sure that I'll be posting more querie s as well as Happy Dances. Unfortunately, I'm not a FB user, so I'll have to rely on the board to reconnect with those I used to know and those I wil l meet.
