Could she be a friend of a friend from here?????
I'm going to try to look her up and see if I can find out anything.
Well is she is friends with several people on here.
Same here. I have two requests that I don't r ecognize names on. I'm just not responding right now. Figure I'll either remember who it is or ..... not. I'm not on FB a lot anyway.

I don't have a 'break room' to share a cup of coffee and life with. Gators just smile, you know... so I take my breathers with you here often to have a connect with good friends. I have Not seen a post from Marilyn. Has she tried to sell you any enhancement drugs? Polly
The name means nothing to me, but then, mine probably means nothing to most people either!
Like you, I don't add people I don't know, unless they have specified that they belong to RCTQ or the 123stitch board!
Too many "unknowns" out there!
By the way, is there an RCTQ facebook group?
Claudia
Cautious thinking, Claudia. I wouldn't add either. Just by the number of people who've gone to see the very few pictures of quilts for Newborns in Need, there are nearly 3,000 folks lurking here. Surely, most of them are quilters but some could of course be thugs. Your name ? When I see it I think Spain and talented. Glad you're careful and happy to have you here. Polly
thank you, Claudia. i know who you are and so do lots of us here. i'm waiting to see who might know marilyn from another group or personally even. i've been known to be paranoid tho.
yup there is an rctq group on facebook but isnt used much. j.

nope, no drugs, Polly. i looked at her facebook page and she has pix of quilts there but i just never heard of her here in any capacity. if she is lurking here perhaps she will reply and i'll then have a clue who she is. til then.... keep the gators ready just in case. j.

Nothing in the archives. There are actually 500 on Facebook.
I find the problem is often when someone uses a nickname on here, but their real name on Facebook. I have had to trawl through the Directory, etc to link, but as you say, nothing anywhere!

It's been years. No doubt she's retired by now. We all did

There are some people on Facebook who will friend everybody they can find whether they have any 'connection' with you or not. There seems to be some status in having a huge number of friends? I rarely use my Facebook account, so please don't be offended if I don't friend you. It would be kinda useless since I'm not there.... ;-)

It might be a good idea when doing a Facebook "friend request" to add a personal message with a bit of info on how you are connected to the other person. I ignore requests from people whose name I do not recognize if there is no information that gives me a clue as to why I should accept the request. If you get repeated requests from someone that you do not know, you can block that person completely; I have done that -- though not to anyone that might have been from this group.
Julia > who is marilyn brown?
I think that may be because several people (me included) added her as a fellow quilter without thinking too much about it. Not that I think she's a terrible person or anything - just someone no one seems to properly know.

Hah! I have a total of thirteen, yes, thirteen friends on Facebook, and that is really one too many since only twelve show up in the litle box at any one time! Yes, I know I am hopelessly out of tune with the times. I can't fathom how people deal with umpty ump "friends" anyway - just the thirteen I have fill up my page with Yoville stuff, and Farmville exploits, and all kinds of other stuff I don't care about or participate in. I could probably hide them, but my DH, who has no page of his own and doesn't want one, gets a kick out of looking at mine and chuckling.

Howdy!
What's the mystery? Facebook shows quilter Marilyn Brown, in Oklahoma, who is friends w/ a few other RCTQers. She quilts. Her stats are on the FB site, including her kids' ages. No indication what type of chocolate she prefers. FB sends out invites like this all the time, whether we need it or not. ;-D Friends of friends of friends of friends... that's the way FB works.
Cheers!
