My neighbor's Singer has one of those little plates to cover the feed dogs, but I couldn't get it stay on. Just lower the stitch length to 0 and free motion away. Don't need the feed dogs covered. Gen

In 1967 my dad (too typically unemployed) won a Touch and Sew as a monthly incentive prize from the insurance company he was working for. It came with a cabinet, it was shiny and pretty and replaced my mom's ancient machine that was really unreliable. She made that machine sing. It may not be worth anything, but she made clothes with it for years and all of them were incredible. Matter of fact, when I got married in 1987 she made my wedding dress -- on that touch and sew.

Good luck! Sunny
