Knit Fabric Search

Hi Guys, OK -- this is for those of you who shop for apparel or home dec fabric online. I am looking for a source for knit fabric in a holiday (Christmas or winter) design. I only shop for woven cotton quilt fabric online and those shops have almost nothing that is knit! I have three Christmas t-shirts and I want to add long sleeves & a collar to them so I can wear them without freezing! I haven't seen anything locally that I feel is suitable so my internet hunt is on. I googled "knit Christmas fabric" and got pretty much nothing usable! I tried "knit holiday" and "knit winter" and the only stuff that came up was polar fleece type fabrics! So, if any of you have links to shops online, I would appreciate a link or two. I even tried Joann.com and they didn't have anything suitable! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Hi,

Try a search using "cotton interlock" along with whatever other criteria you choose. I did a quick search and found several sites with solid colors but not many prints. There is this one:

NAYY, etc. Just had a bit of fun searching.

Have you considered wearing a longsleeve crew neck (or turtle) shirt beneath the shortsleeved Christmas shirts? I'm not sure that look is 'in style' these days or not. I've lived long enough that trends are particularly important. Ought to be fairly easy to find some in Christmas red or green; I used to have one that was printed with holly that was nice to wear with my red suit. Polly

Don't know whether it's in style or not - but, I wear silk or cotton t-necks under t-shirts all the time!

I went to Denver Fabrics also and didn't see anything suitable. I'll have to do another search using the words jersey or interlock and see if that works better. I never thought to use those terms :-). I am assuming (I know, not a good thing to do -- LOL) that any search for jersey or interlock fabric with the word Christmas in it will likely return clothing weight fabric -- I hope!! I actually have several holiday turtle necks with kitties on them that would work but I don't really want to do that. My plan is to change the look of the shirts so they don't scream t-shirt. I want to take the neck band off and finish the neck opening with a suitable contrast knit fabric and also add long sleeves. If all else fails, I will just use plain white t-shirt knit available at Joanns but I would

*really* something else. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

fabric.com is pretty good! Reliable and they have knit prints. (not affiliated. etc.) I've been buying from them for years now.

as they have many variety of knit fabric.

Fashion Fabrics Club bought the online division of Denver Fabrics last year sometime, so they are essentially the same.
