May all of us, whether we are celebrating an official holiday or just spending another "average" Thursday with our families and friends, remember to give thanks on this day for all of our blessings.
Life is sacred, beautiful and filled with wonder. Miracles happen every day in the hearts and lives of ordinary people like you and me.
You, my quilty sisters, have given me joy, laughter and love. You've shared my sorrows and fears and let me share yours. You have given me hope. You have reached out your hands to hold mine. My life is richer and better by far than before I "met" you all. When I stand at the table tonight to recite my blessings, I will name this place where I meet you, my friends and sisters (and the occasional brother -- John, I haven't forgotten you).
I want to close this message with a benediction that always brings great joy to my heart at the end of Sunday services:
'Today is the day the Lord has made. Go forth and rejoice!"
