OT: update on "Bruiser" aka my DD with the broken nose

Well, she looks like she was coloring her face with markers. However, the swelling has gone significantly. We saw the ENT yesterday and he wants us to come in Tuesday morning - unless the swelling goes down, then he said to call and make an appointment for Monday afternoon. So far, the swelling is going down faster than I had expected.

She CAN go back to school Monday, but until the doc has seen her and given her the all clear, she is NOT to be running around or doing anything that could re-break her nose. She CAN take her boxing lessons since she isn't sparring yet, which is a good thing. Coach is worried about her but wants her to heal, so he isn't worried that she has missed to days of lessons.

Ok...um, the trip to the ER was uneventful, but they did do a CT scan on her since her eyes weren't dilating equally and she was a bit befuddled. We were there for about 2 hours or more and got sent home with paperwork about a concussion (even though they never uttered that word to me), told to let her sleep, but that if I got up in the night to check on her (no need to deliberately keep her awake or keep waking her up during the night). The only thing we have noticed that is slightly different is that, even though Ken is home, Rebekah prefers spending time with me. Normally on weekends, she wants to get as much Daddy time as possible, but today she was helping me in the sewing room, wanting me to watch her play on the Wii, just coming in to talk about silly things....not that I mind, but that is a definite change from how she normally is on weekends.

So, there it is....with any luck, her nose will heal (is already healing?) without the need to rebreak it.
