OT-Valentines Day Meal

So, what are you doing for Valentines Day? I came home from work last night, after my computer at school crashed and it also took my school web-mail access with it, to a dozen roses and a nice card. What am I doing today for Bert? Making a nice meal which includes:

Rib of Eye steak braised with Chipotle Mustard sauce Asparagus with lemon and honey smoked bacon bits Garlic mashed potatoes Flourless Chocolate Ramekin cakes with Orange zest and Raspberry Jam sauce Bottle of Red Wine And of course a red table cloth with white napkins and candles

Just thought I would throw it out there. After all those years of working in restaurants all those years ago, Valentines was a hellish evening, I just try to do something special at home.

How about you?

You are a prince among men, and can come to Illinois to cook at my house any time!

Yesterday was a GREAT Birthday at Disney with all the trimmings. Today's lunch was a sandwich, and supper was chili with crackers. There is lots of pollen down here and DH is not feeling well. Barbara in FL

We had heart-shaped-pizza day at our house. Each made their own dough, topped with my famous homemade pizza sauce, and then each used their favourite toppings. Incredibly, Mark had never made his own pizza before. I'm not sure which cave he grew up in. Anyway, a new experience for him. Plus he had never had pizza with champagne until tonight either. Goodness.

I went shopping with my friend Little Mary.... We brought home nice low-fat cheesecake and chocolate triffle pots, and iced fairy cakes with pink hearts on. Alan and James had cooked a WW recipe beef bourgignon, which was utterly delish. We had a bottle of wine with it.

And I have flowers! :)

I put a couple of chicken carcasses in the dutch oven before work for chicken stock. We're looking at a corn-shrimp-andouille chowder. Yum!

I'm not at home with my hubby -- but 150 miles away at my mom's... Painting! But we took a break tonight to go down to my brothers... is lab is having puppies... and I get one! Samson will soon have a friend!

You can see the little cuties on my webshots page... as of now -- 6 puppies... and the white cute one (with the pink ears, pink face and pink feet) will come home with me in a few months. The pics are of the puppies... only several hours old at the most!

What a fun night... even without hubby (although I do miss him terribly!)

PS -- I'd love the recipe for the flourless chocolate cake... sounds yummy to me!
