OT Very sad QI news

I thought I would take a moment to share with you all, as I know many of you understand how I am feeling right now. On Jan 3rd my beloved Syd, a border collie x I adopted almost a decade ago slipped peacefully away. For the past nine years she has been the best companion I could have asked for and although it was the kindest, in fact the last kindness I could do for her, I have been totally devastated by her loss. I only recently came to the poem 'Rainbow Bridge' and can only hope to see her again there, waiting for me, tail wagging again.

I am sorry to hear about your loved Syd. I would like to think she is chasing my furbaby Patch (Senior QI) who went to Rainbow Bridge in November - she was 19 years old. Syd has left you with some very special happy memories, so dwell on those until you meet again.

Ah Jo, how sad for you. Of course you will have been deeply affected by this. Important thing is not to try to play it down - just be how you feel. Let yourself grieve, and cry and miss her. Your heart needs to work the pain out. It will take time before you can forget the sad, last few days and remember the great times you had together, but that time will come. So many of us here have been through the sadness of losing a pet, so we do understand how hard it is. No need to pretend around here. Don't try to do anything important for a little while. You won't be quite up to par. Take care, . In message , Jo P writes

Jo, my sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved companion. How lucky she was to have had you for an 'owner' (although they really 'own' us, don't they). You gave her a wonderful life and loved her to the end...what pet could ask for more?

((((((JO)))))) It is hard to let go of a true friend QI. ... it is so hard to let them move on - but they are waiting for us at the rainbow Bridge and are happy, pain-free, and probably trading quilt-mischief stories with each other. Remember them in the good times you had together! ME-Judy

My heartfelt sympathies. Our QI's are like children to us. They always are there to great us, never are angry and can love us beyond reproach. I am sure Syd is waiting by that rainbow bridge for you, tail wagging.
