OT: We're losing Jo

"Sunny"

morning. He was fine when he had a checkup two months ago. Today his abdomen was filled with a mass that was obviously bleeding. At 10 years old, we expected to have our boy a lot longer. Surgery might stop the bleeding, but the vet says we would be right back in the same place within a few months. That's just too little time to put him through the cruelty of surgery and recovery. He would need multiple transfusions and the chances of abscess would be very high, the vet says. So we are saying goodbye today. The family has to gather at the vet clinic. We left him there, cuddled into blankets and very still, too ill to bring home. I'm so sad.

I agree with what Barbara said. You have the biggest heart for letting him go at this point, even if it is a bleeding heart right now.
