OTHER sewing spaces

For various reasons that sounds just what I need too. Maybe we should try and set up an RCTQ-UK retreat sometime.

OK, lets think about this - some in the attic, still unpacked but not far from my thoughts....some is in the garage (fingers crossed not a mouse house now!), some is in the living room, some is in DDs room in big boxes and some is under the bed and there is some in the hall cupboard as well. I think that is it, apart from what is in my sewing bag that I take to our quilting group.

I now desperately want to get the kitchen finished, so I can then finish the living room, which then means I'll have a quilting corner. One day, I want to convert our small garage in to a quilting room/new entrance way in to our house - but the kitchen 1st. Just had tax bills, subs for archery and umpteen other big bills, so kitchen on hold temporarily, heyho, has been like this for 18 months now - no cooker, no hob, single gas ring and microwave!! You sure do get ingenious with recipes..... I'll probably wait for January sales now.

I've been feeling sorry for myself because I have no sewing room and it's been 6 mos. But at least I have a kitchen should I choose to use it.

There are 19 of us going from my local quilt group (plus a couple of "embellishments", which is what we call daughters of group members who have moved away, friends of the group etc) With the cabins full it isn't too expensive. Last time was great fun as one of our members had her 80th birthday with us and brought a case of champagne (as had the group as a surprise, champagne out of tumblers does not lead to straight seams!)

Well, I finally found a use for the cedar chest my DH made for me in high school. It's full of books, patterns, well, anything that isn't fabric or batting, which tends to smell weird if they're stored in it. For 37 years it's been the white elephant in the house (well, he *was* only

17 then and hardly a master carpenter). But we've lugged it around to every house we've lived in and I wouldn't part with it for anything. Sherry Sherry

I really and truly miss my 3 season porch in my old house that I used for my sewing room. Right now I have no where to sew. As I am currently at my son & DIL's till I get on my feet again. I have so many ideas running around in my head but no where to sew. Have an appointment on Monday with a staffing company so we will see where that leads. wish me luck!
