Paper for piecing or quilting

It has been suggested that one use exam table paper for foundation piecing and for quilting guide. Could be used for dress making patterns too. I just found a site for this product. I was really surprised to find medical office supplies at Staples though! NAYY.

12 rolls 18" wide X 225 feet long if an average quilt top is 68 sq ft. (just guessing) these would do almost 60 quilts. What fun, let the piecing begin!!!! VBG

I've used craft paper and gift wrap for garment pattern making. The gift wrap was a better choice than the craft paper, cheaper too since the wrap was bought at a clearance sale at 75 percent off. Debra in VA See my quilts at

Thanks for the site Pat. I took a machine quilting class at the Quebec show called "beyond stippling" in June and the teacher suggested that type of paper for MQ as opposed to golden thread paper. It is much cheaper. Her dh was a dr so it did make it easier for her to obtain ;o). I'm thinking after all the surgery I've had since April this year I feel comfortable enough to ask my dr for a roll. Now, I just need the guts! lol
