Thanks. Glad to see that there are some lovers of more traditional quilting on the west coast. When I visit relatives there I always visit the LQS's but find very few have any interest in traditional patterns.

this is one of those blocks with many names. In Barbara Brackman's book it is number 2413b and named Grandmother's Pride. It is a simple block. Just make sure when cutting the side triangles that you have the straight of grain on the longest side of the triangle so you don't have bias edges to your block. If you have EQ you should be able to find it with the Brackman number.
