Wow, thanks! These responses are really inspiring me to keep going on this arduous project. Anybody wanna come over and help me tear off the papers as I go?

Another "stunning"! Thank you, Sandy.

It's pretty special at least to me anyway. It's a design I thought up and doodled on graph paper during my very first series of quilt classes. THEY said it couldn't be done. (chuckle) Over the years I've learned a lot. One of the things I learned was Carol Doak's paper piecing. That gave me ideas on how to break it down and make it possible. And here we are!

Thanks, Taria. Slow but sure really IS winning the race, in more ways than one.

Thanks, Mary. Keep cheering me on, and I just might make it through the whole quilt top!

Thanks, Sharon. Let's see, one block is ............. 104 pcs.

Yes, it's pretty intricate, but with paper piecing and this far down the road, I pretty much have the intricacy under control now. All that remains is the work!

Thank you, Charlotte, I'm glad you like it. I've waited a long time to bring this to fruition.

Thanks, Elizabeth! I'm glad you like it. And what have you been up to?
Karen, Queen of Squishies
Karen, just take a minute or two to score all the seams - quite firmly - with something like the back of a stitch-ripper. It helps so much and saves far more time than the time it takes to do. Oh, do it with a ruler so that you are on the stitches/paper the whole time and can press firmly (not firmly enough to tear the fabric!!). Then, when you have done that, pull gently on the bias grain. Your pieces of paper will be popping out with no effort at all. . In message , "Karen, Queen of Squishies" writes
I will try that, thanks! Some of these pcs. are slivers - ugh.
Karen, Queen of Squishies
Well, remember that I do miniatures - and lots of those are slivers, too >gg
I had forgotten about your miniatures. What a great help, thanks!

Howdy!
Want to encourage you to Finish this top so you can get to the BATTING stage. ;-D

handquilting a baby quilt -- I am about 1/3 finished with the final border so I will be biding soon(pictures posted when finished), planning another baby quilt, remodeling my house. I think I may go crazy here! Thanks for asking. Elizabeth in Spring, Texas
I know a few bits are getting left in mine, that's for sure. For a hug block or something, I try to be a lot cleaner, but for a whole quilt...... I'll choose the extra insulation!
Karen, Queen of Squishies
Sounds like the hand-quilting is keeping you sane! : )
