Quilt shops near Williamsburg VA?

Hi all! Next week I am driving down to the Williamsburg Virginia area and am on the lookout for any LQS that I should be checking out. I am missing a quilt show that I normally go every year so will need to make up for that by fondling fabric somewhere else! Thanks! Allison in Montreal

There is also my favourite LQS (well, I used to live around there, and it is _still_ my most frequented quilt store):

Nancy's Calico Patch

Please do not be fooled by the webpage, which is not fantastic IMHO. The shop is great and I have always (even when they did not know me and I had no clue!) been welcomed. It is also very easy to get to from Williamsburg, and depending on time of day and where in Williamsburg should be no more than 40-45 minutes.

If you don't mind a further drive, there are some other shops within maybe 1-1.5 hours from Williamsburg, but even with those, Nancy's is still my favourite - and no, I don't get commission :-)

Well, it's not in Virginia. But if you are driving down and you get anywhere near Woodstock, NY, my favorite LQS is Woodstock Quilt Supply!

I don't know how much driving youare planning or anything, but the area is just great for walkingaround and shopping other unique shops as well...and a great yarnstore too!

Allison: I live about 20 minutes from Williamsburg. Hanne is right. Nancy's Calico in Newport News is a really nice shop. It offers Guild Discount, but I do NOT know if that is only for local guilds or if it honors other cards. Just ask. It is just about 35 minutes form Colonial Wmbg. It is just about 5 minutes a few top notch museums: The Mariner's Museum and Virginia Living Museum.

Here is a LQS > Hi all!
