Oh no.... I have a friend who is going who loves batiks. My official opinion is she will need shopping therapy. So being the good friend that I am, I wanted to make sure she had a list of quality quilt stores...... bonus batiks for her :-)))

Ok Leslie... I've been digging thru my old book marks from when DH used to travel that direction and all I can find is St. Louis. And I know there is someone that used to be on this list that previously gave me recommendations for Columbia. And I say that because I think at one point you, me, teacher gal and this person from Columbia who I can not for the life of me think of their name even though I remember them being joyful & fun..... anyway I remember Columbia as being one of the potential meet up places and me collecting fun quilt stores out that way... not to mention black mail FQ required to let DH back in the door after a trip.

So... who was that in Columbia MO and who has the names of the fun quilt stores??? Come on now... I feel sure Leslie is going to need shopping therapy

I didn't get a chance to go to any shops when I was at a conference in Columbia last month (phooey!), but a search at

brought about Appletree Quilting Center, smack in the heart of Columbia. I know there were a few places just outside of Columbia I wanted to visit, right along I-70, but I can't remember if they were yarn shops or quilt shops. Either way, you can visit Appletree at

. Be sure to report back on experiences! I know I'll be in Columbia again this summer, and I'd love to know if it's worth stopping in! (Not that it's ever NOT worth stopping at a quilt shop...)
