That's wonderful Jan. Quite unique - and totally beyond my powers. However do you gals think of these things? >g< Good for you for overcoming the 'doubts'; I'll join in the Leslie cheers! I hope you decide to do something else along these lines - it would be such a shame for her not to have a 'partner'. Could you do one of those clichéd 'man accompanying partner at quilt show' pictures? You know - the glazed expression, the multitude of bags to carry, the portable seat, the wallet or credit card, the *very* comfortable old shoes? Have a think - I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one to hope to see a second quilt in the genre. . In message , " snipped-for-privacy@gmail.com" writes

WooHoo she came out great. What a hoot! How big is she? Love those earrings. You did a great job on the quilting. I think I saw a gal that looked just like her at Road2CA. : ) So is she going to reside in the quilting palace? We always have at least 3 cheers for Leslie. She is an inspiration.

Oh Pat! That would be too funny!! I should give credit to the designer though. It's an Amy Bradley design. I customized it a bit, but I just used her pattern. She has some wonderful designs. Thanks!!

Thanks Taria!! Who also kept telling me she needed to be finished!! Another 3 cheers for Taria! She is HUGE. I'm short so she is almost life size for me. She will eventually hang in the quilting palace, but DH hasn't finished the quilt hanger yet.... so until then I think I will move her around.... you know... like right inside DH's closet door so she greets him first thing in the morning that should make him jump ;-) I have to entertain myself some how right??!!

By the way, the silver beads on the earrings say "follow your heart" and the charm bracelet has sewing related charms. The original pattern called for a pin cushion with real pins sticking out and that just didn't seem prudent in this house. :-)

Jan she's amazing! And so are you for finishing her. What a great quilt. I just love the embellishments you used.

I have a question for you about another quilt in your photos: did you draw the line drawings on the Oriental hug quilt? Lovely stuff there. As is all your work.

Thanks for sharing the Diva with us.

Thanks Sunny! And by line drawings?? I only did the quilting on that quilt. The blocks were all contributed by members of RCTQ and the young man's family & friends. Kellie Berger can give more information on the individual blocks. She gathered, assembled and chose the quilting patterns and I complied ;-)

So cute! I have that pattern. I pulled it out yet again last week. You may have inspired me to at least start on her!

Argh.... where was the bad pun alert???? :-)

Thanks everyone for the kind words. She was just fun to do. Well.... except for sewing around all those tiny pieces But the fusing, the quilting and the embellishing was fun And the more I think about it... I think Pat on the Hill must have seen DH at a quilt show... she described him right up to carrying the sleeping child! And Taria, who are you kidding?? Your quilting is amazing!!! But thanks for the compliment. That's high praise coming from you!

Jan.... she is just too, TOO cute! LOVE the scissors in her hair as a bow, and her spool necklace - fantastic quilting on her too. Where is she going to hang???
