Quilted Diamonds - Patti

Sally, I have book 2 and would highly recommend that over book 1, simply because of the hand piecing DVD included and because of the illustrations of how to press the seam allowances of each block. I'm enjoying making these little blocks. :)

If you will look at , you will see a drop-down list on the left. One of the choices is the book and DVD for $29.95, and the other is the book/DVD/CD (with EQ patterns) for $39.95. Click the Add to Cart button and then go to the top of the reloaded page and View Cart/Checkout. HTH! :)

Now, why didn't I read your post before answering Sally? Soft Expressions generally has things a bit more cheaply than other places. In addition, there are illustrations of the pages (specifically, the way the QD2 pages are laid out so helpfully) there, so you'll know what I was talking about.

You can add it to your cart from this page . It gives the price as $29.95 USD. You can also order it from . I don't know anything about this company, just found it through google. This doesn't say anything about a DVD, but does say that you must have EQ to use the optional CD.

Sorry Sandy! I just thought that, if it got too specific (eg if I described some diamonds etc) it might get boring to others. . In message , Sandy Ellison writes

Thank you Pati and everyone for your advice (and teaching me how to negotiate Linda's site - I must be a little senile today - probably the result a waiting up too late for a naughty little Kiwi to come home from the Cats' rave-up last night!)

I have ordered Book 2 and CD from Linda. Although she was slightly more expensive than the other suggestion, her postage was given as a definite whereas the other site had lots of confusing options, all considerably more costly. Much better when you are told how much it will cost to ship to the UK rather than being faced with lots of abbreviations and sizes of boxes to choose from! I just want things packaged and sent the 'normal' way!

I actually prefer hand sewing to machining, and like fiddling with little bits, so they should keep me quiet for a while!

Thanks everyone.

I think the Quilted Diamonds ARE prettier. But with the DJ, it's the history, I think we all enjoy so much.

I found a couple of collections on webshots that I really like

And I can't find the picture of the one that inspired me! But I have it in my head.

There was a quilted diamond quilt at the Orlando quilt show today. She had designed her own patterns and layout. It was very skillfully done in two fabrics, but was a very pale green and white, and didn't really show all the work she had done!

Susan, Were you one of those with the bright yellow shirts? I was there most of today. Nice show, lots of vendors. Saw the diamond quilt, thought some of the blocks looked a little like Dear Jane Diamonds, sort of. Anna Belle in Palm Bay Too bad we didn't ask who was going--I met you there with your DH one year. I think it was the first he was out of military.

No yellow shirt for me! Sorry to have missed you. We were only there for about 1 1/2 hours, and left around noon. It was the first day I've been able to drag DH away from his chore of re-doing our front yard and garden railway!

Anna, Linda Franz designed those quilted diamonds based on Dear Jane blocks. There's a site somewhere that shows the blocks stretched into the diamonds. Pretty cool!
