Quilted Diamonds

Well, it's a good think I got the Directory formed opened yesterday morning. I went to a birthday party for a friend's 4 year old with my DD and DGS and came home to find that the nice mail man delivered my Quilted Diamonds books, CDs and DVD!

If you're wondering why you haven't gotten your Directory email test, well.............

I think I found a new quilting addiction!

This is an example of using diamonds in an impressionist quilt. It's amazing. This is the book that I bought from The Stitchin Post, 'cause I had been wanting it for so long and I decided that was a special enough store for it. ;)

Thanks, I book marked the site. I saw something on her site about a show on QNN. I will have to make note as to when it will air.

But not at all what Quilted Diamonds are about..... Linda Franz made a quilt a few years ago, based sort of on a quilt made by Jane Austin and her sisters/mother. That one has a medallion, surrounded by sashed, with cornerstones, diamonds. She skewed the blocks from the "Dear Jane" quilt into 60° diamonds, plus added a few and created an absolutely wonderful quilt. Linda's quilt ended up being patterned in a book "Quilted Diamonds". Then she created

101 new diamond patterns for "Quilted Diamonds 2". Yes they are addictive. QD2 also has included a dvd that is almost 2 hours of Linda demonstrating/teaching hand piecing. And there are CDs with the patterns that work with EQ5, so you can print out the patterns easily on freezer paper. They are somewhat addictive, and can lead to all sorts of things. If you go to the Hoffman Challenge website, check the pieced, 2nd place winner...... that is a quilt I made by skewing traditional blocks the same way Linda did with the Dear Jane blocks.

You might say that I like doing these pieced diamonds just a bit.......
