Sunday AM: rcty, coffee klatsch, blogging and blogsurfing.. . .

Happy Sunday morning ! My hubby left his sound machine on accidently which caused me to go back to sleep 3 to 4 times so pretty fuzzy so coffee intake is up !!!!

My you are up late Noreen ! I am not capable of late nights ! Neither when I was young or now.... Hubby gets up at 4 am to go to the gym before work so we go to bed very early during the week. We did have a non knitting but very miraculous happening yesterday when hubby was working with a coping saw and cut his finger pretty deep. He held it together and refused emergency room treatment and it actually acted like it was glued together and has been fine with a fine line only ever since about an hour after ! I am taking his vitamins now !!!!! I do not understand it cuz it was mighty deep looking to me ! Whew ! As for knitting ~~ going to play with the hubby vest today-- too many other projects and now want that one done ! Love working with that yarn so guess I am not pushing to the finish line as fast as usual. But it would be good if he could wear it THIS year! I got the thing started after the holidays last year but have done tons of other things first and finished them instead. Great shawl Noreen ! I can't believe I decided on the shrug to make because I have tons of shawls but that is not the point !!!! I love lace or cable knitting and refuse to stop !!!!! Happy day to you all ! barbie

I have the most abnormal sleep habits in the world, Barbie! YEARS of late 2nd shifts, where we worked 4pm till 1:30 am 6 days a week, and THEN, YEARS of early first shifts, where we worked 6am till 3:30pm six days a week. Noreen all mixed up, but even though I was still up at 1:30 last night, I was up and at em by 7:15 !!

Good Morning everyone!

I very seldom post here on Sundays since the weekends are very busy at this place. DH & I spent part of the day yesterday and this a.m. chlorinating and disinfecting our well since we "failed" our well test a couple of weeks ago due to all the rain and groundwater we've had since the end of June. We have to wait a week, then take in another water sample for testing. Here's hoping it passes! I'm tired of brushing my teeth like I'm at camp.

I picked up a huge bargain the other day at Value Village. One of the women in one of my knitting groups brought in a bag of 5 skeins of lucious wool she found there. So I just had to run over there and see what was there!! Heee heeee

The main reason I wanted some of this yarn is my DD was whining for some new slippers for herself and the three kids. This time I want to make felted slippers because I think they'll last longer. I'm thinking of purses/bags too, maybe some mittens. I'm amazed at how soft some of the yarn is - especially the teal. I'm even thinking of going back to buy some more!

I finally have my espresso machine online today after taking it down for maintenance last night so I'm just now beginning to caffeinate.

I finished the knitting on the EZ fishtrap aran but it needs some remedial work before I'll be 100% happy with it.

Working on an EZ adult surprise for a friend using some antique Germantown worsted-weight wool. I'm on the home stretch of the "increase to 6K" section of the knitting so the end of the knitting is at least coming over the horizon. I'm getting soooo tired of garter stitch...

The Icelandic shawl is still waiting for me to finish the edging. Maybe I should farm that out to a friend of mine who actually enjoys crocheting. I'm sure that for a ball of sock yarn she'd be interested...

The portable project is, as always, socks. I found a DubblBubbl lunchbox at the resale shop last week so that is now my take-along sock container. I get some odd looks walking around with it at various public locations but I really don't give a rat's a$$ *dimple*

Spinning: dog/wool, cotton, just plain wool. I've got a gorgeous white Romney in the wash today which I intend to comb off as time allows. Still scouring Hershey lockwise and combing when I have a combful. Thinking about starting up another walnut dyepot but the last one was such a disgusting mess after it fermented for a couple of days...

Small boy's giant star-shaped granny square crochet afghan proceeds apace. I finally had to do the initial setup for him, working left-handed so that he'd be aiming the correct direction when he took over. He's on round 8 of what promises to be a 50- or 60-round project. The Crochet Fairy does a bit of remedial work during hte night.

Speaking of the boy, he lost a tooth last weekend (its only been a year since the first one came out!) and I managed to snap an absolutely adorable photo. I think the sunburn just adds to the devil-may-care attitude he's exuding. First, Wooly if you need a babysitter, you can send him this way. LOL I can see why gals would want to babysit him.

It's another hot day in upstate NY and going to get worse this coming week. Last night was the coolest we have had in quite a while so I did some knitting on the one piece baby sweater, crocheted on that one piece baby sweater and did a couple of squares. I guess the rest of the week it will be back to granny squares again.
