August 6X6 Squares from Nora

Thanks, Nora, for sending the beautiful squares and gifts. I love the colors and designs. I need to get busy. I have been spending a lot of time on two non-knitting projects: Getting DD off to college away from home and a family cookbook. If anyone has any special ideas about either of those...please send info. All my other kids went to school in the same town where we lived at the time. She is moving 40 miles away. And she is still my baby.

Again, Thank you Nora!

Hugs, Susan

Susan, When Christy went off to college in Atlanta (we ALL lived in WI at the time) I did a family cookbook, but the one she REALLY appreciated was the Starving Student's handbook, lotsa ideas for cooking snacks, etc in-dorm. Also, I had a standing 'date' with her every Saturday, we'd have a cuppa coffee at a predetermined time, and use the phone every OTHER Saturday while having same cuppa... Noreen PS, when Kelley went to College, we did the same, and she was only 40 miles away.

Hi Susan,

I've marked my Aug. list that you received your squares from me. Have fun with the cookbook and no hurry on the squares.

... I have been spending a lot of

I have been wanting to do a family cookbook. All these recipes are in my head or on scraps of paper in 10 different places. Many are going to lost when I go. Tell me how you are going about making it? Printing them out is not good, since the printer ink runs easily if something wet gets on it. Having it printed would be pricey. Thanks. Kira

We have several options with this one we are doing. I am typing all the recipes into a premade MS Word template that works for me. I sent it to all the family members and am gathing the recipes in slowly. I also have many that I have had online for a long time. I am putting all of them into the same template. When it comes time for printing we will use one of two choices for everyone. We will either laminate each page as we print, or put it all on a CD so the person getting it can just download what they want to cook and print for the day, toss the paper when done and it stays on the computer. My sister has a thing for making the booklets with the plastic things so it is a family project...something to keep me busy with a project with DD leaving for the big world out there. That in addition to all the knitting I hope to get done.

Thanks for asking, Susasn
