quilting on frame

Sep 12, 2005 2 Replies

Hi, I am new to this group so if this question has already been addressed to length I'm sorry. Has anyone used the Flynn system or any of the others? I was thinking of trying the Flynn one since I just do small wallhangings and it appears to be the smallest. Thanks for any input.

I never use frames or hoops for quilting of any size! I baste closely, though, and that prevents slippage.

I have a Flynn system and have used it for approximately 10 quilts, from twin up to queen sized. The larger the quilt, the more unwieldly it becomes. I do okay with a twin size, much less so with a queen, so a wall hanging should work pretty well. I use two different lengths of the cross bars, depending on the width of the quilt, and the longer the bars the more difficult, so a wallhanging should be relatively easy.
