Today I am sending two quilts out to Kansas City as Christmas gifts for my great niece and great nephew who live there, and am wrapping up two more I will take with me for Christmas with my great niece and great nephew who live in Colorado! Each quilt will fit a twin bed with dust ruffle, and is long enough for a pillow-tuck. Each is whole- cloth but made with 40 blocks, with no repeats in any quilt but with a few repeats between the quilts -- I only have about 50 stencils! The blocks are stitched with colored thread, and set off with sashing in another coordinating color. There are no repeats in colors between quilts. Each quilt is 100% hand-stitched, and each has made it through the washer and dryer at least twice with success. Each quilt is signed and dated and will have a letter "about your quilt" tucked inside the package. The children range from age 3 to 7 and may not think much of getting a quilt for Christmas, but their mothers are thrilled -- and if they have more babies I will be making more quilts! The package to Kansas City is going USPS, insured, to Grandpa's house since he will be home to sign for it, and I'm going to tuck in a tin of Christmas cookies for Grandpa for being a good sport. What a relief to be finished with all this stuff!
