I keep a couple of boxes for things that go to charities, plus my NIN box.

One box is for things I have made. Patterns I wanted to do, or materials I wanted to try that have no place to go within my family.

One box is for things that people give us that we have no use for. There s eem to be an awful lot of people that have an attitude about "home made". I want what I want and if I cannot buy what I want I make it, plus I truly hate shopping. Some people find out I make clothes and coats and bedding a nd what have you, and they bring over a bunch of stuff assuming we are in d ire straits. Never mind that I am a sewing professional. So I usually have a goodly big box of things that don't fit anyone, don't work in my househo ld, or have such a reek of arrogant self-righteousness about them that I ca nnot bear to look at them.

When something dire happens and a call goes out, I just sort through my box es and send what meets the need.

Nice of you to keep "extras" to help those in need. I do this too, but don't have many things in my container. I sometimes get with a friend to make up her grandkid's play clothes. Barbara in wet SC

Hello Jack, Where would one send a quilt to help these people. I did not see an address to ship a quilt to. Sandy$

I prefer to "keep it local" and am sewing for our county medical center pediatric unit.

Those kids were doing it through World Vision, a charity I have heard of but don't know much about. They are international, though they started in the US.
