Quilty (or other) things to see and do in Rome?

I will be going to Rome for a very brief visit in a couple of months. I will have only limited free time outside a couple of planned sightseeing tours/visits.

However, do any of you know of anything quilt related to go see or do or shop while in Rome? It would need to be accessible by public transport or foot, nor car.

Of course, general tourist info is also greatly appreciated :-)

Thanks, Hanne in DK

The beautiful tiled floors!!

They will give you inspiration for quilts for years to come!! Or, if they don't, you can send pictures to me (and Roberta >ggI will be going to Rome for a very brief visit in a couple of months.

Nice one! Yes, not what I was thinking, but that is the point of asking, right?

The Vatican comes to mind. And the Coloseum.

I know this is waaaaaaaaaay not quilty, but, the day we left Rome, we had about an hour to kill before our limo picked us up & we wandered into this church

It's definitely something to see. Not as macabre as you would think - but, yes, indeed strange!

I know there are many farmers markets in Rome - perhaps not in the city centre - but if Italy is anything like France, you may be able to find 100% cotton fabric at the farmers markets. (I wasn't quilting when I was there.)

Have a wonderful trip - watch out for the pick-pockets!
