Kate, I am amazed and in awe of your skills as a dressmaker. And your website is incredible. I find myself scrolling through, reading the stories and unable to stop until you, Super Seamstress, save the day. I am entirely serious. I wrote for a living until I was no longer to handle doing anything for a living. I know good writing and compelling storytelling. You have both in spades. I believe you could easily write a book, filled with your incredible stories and lovely illustrations. It's not justa "how to" book. You are telling real human stories and describing how to take sows' ears and make silk purses. Or wedding dresses, as the case may be. You are a talented lady and I think you could find an audience for a book. Who knew that stories about making dresses could have me on the edge of my seat? Thanks for sharing. Sunny

Thanks, Kate, you have made it look lovely. I am inspired to go put some more stitches in. They look tiny, but there are only 8 to the inch. I can't get how people get 14 and 16, they can't be getting all three layers, surely?

Those stars are a real pig. Next time I think I might choose my own pattern, it would be a lot less hassle.

(I might even get the points better, too, but after all there ain't no quilting police!)

Goodness, Kate. It's obviously be a while since I had a look at your site. Incredible - all of it, lovely dresses, information and links and everything else. How do you find time to maintain that and make "posh frocks" too?

The web site takes very little time: the posh frocks can take ages! next thing I need to work on is my garment pressing technique... It's funny how the camera finds creases the eye misses!
