Re: Small part for Singer? machine

May 19, 2007 7 Replies

At the Spring Fayre I helped at today I bought a packet of odd sewing bits - Stitch Ripper, needle threaders, stencil for hexagonals etc. Included was a Singer lightbulb (dead) and a small 1.3/4" bar which looks like a thread holder from a sewing machine. One end is drilled out and threaded to be screwed on to something. There is also a plastic end stop that slides on the end.

As the bulb was Singer I am guessing that the bar is possibly for a Singer. Perhaps it could be a horizontal one?

I was going to throw it away but suddenly thought that someone might have an empty place on their Singer crying out for this little metal stick. Its not very exciting - but for someone it might be!

Do I send or bin?!

I had something like that on my Viking for holding a third reel. Shirley

I know nothing about Singers (mine's a Janome) but end stopper is like a little hat. Base is approx 1/2" and top is approx 5/8". Its nice and shiney and going by the other things in the bag with it, it was put in there as a safe place so it didn't get lost. I just thought it might be a Singer as there was an old Singer bulb in with it.

If you want it, just drop me an e-mail with your address and I'll pop it in the post for you.

Sally, That would be great. Do you want anything for it...maybe a fat quarter or two...or something else? What is your email address? I'm new to using a Usenet group and can't for the life of me figure out this! Thanks, Launie, in Oregon

Sorry base is about 1/4" - it was too late at night when I wrote reply!

Just remove the REMOVE - its there to stop the addy being harvested by those people who collect them automatically and then send you lots of junk!

I get peoples e-mails by hitting the 'Reply to Sender button (I use Mozilla Thunderbird to read). Unfortunately it doesn't send the e-mail if you are Hotmail, so I then have to cut and stick to my normal Hotmail

- annoying!
