Re: The FQ diet

16 hour labour, approx 7 pound baby, and weight loss of approx 12kg. The numbers for weight loss and breastfeeding will go higher, and I haven't got back into dancing yet!

So, who have you conned into paying for all this fabric? ;P

Works out about the same in both cost and environmental impact, when you take all the washing and into account, what with power and powder and stuff.

Hello Bonnie from another NJ-ite! Stick around, this group will be very happy to cure your ignorance!

Darn right you do! And throw in a couple extra simply because of the extra work. You wont have as much time for sewing while Joshua is in diapers but it will wait for you, a lovely reward for being so respectful to the environment. Lets make it a FE for every disposable you Dont use. Diana

Melinda, keep me updated on this...btw, I went and looked at the new pictures of Joshua, and DH happened to be walking behind me. He asked who the cutie was (he is biased and thinks that only HIS children can actually be that adorable at birth , so that shocked me for a minute). I told him, "It's Joshua, the newest RCTQ baby!" Then he asked who his mom was, so I showed him the belly dancing picture and he gave a chuckle.....he knows that I have wanted to try belly dancing but haven't gotten up enough courage...and said that if that is what you did before you got pregnant, you should have no trouble getting back to prepregnancy weight (referring to the fact that it took me 2 years to lose the weight from DS). I'm assuming that you should take that as a compliment, but I gave him a smack just for good measure.

Charlie, Are you in teh RCTQ directory?? If not, can you email me your snail mail address? I think I can probably get some jelly beans out to you in the next month or so...as long as finances stay stable.

In my book, you ladies who are having babies should get about $200 in new material, either fat quarters or yards, tell your significant others that as a nurse I prescribe this to prevent post-natal blues :-) Karen Queen of the Sky who is WAY done having babies, but loves to hold other peoples darlings

Karen,

I relayed this message to DH, who promptly responded with, "I want a second opinion!" LOL I am thinking that, since we are trying to get the car/house/credit card paid off, I won't pressure him.....He is already trying to save up so that I can take a trip to my ancestral homelands. If I can do that, that will be good enough for me...and the timeframe is pretty good,....DS will be 13, DD wil be 10.....DH will be

48 and should be able to handle them, and I will be 40 and looking for a break!

Butterfly, .....but, I'm reading everything. I still do a lot of PT for my shoulder, but mostly at home. I did have a wonderful , large lunch today on the rooftop terrace of the Hotel Washington, right next to the White House ( and overlooking the city of Washington DC). I went into the city with neighbor to go to the Corcoran Gallery to see the exhibit of impressionists paintings. We also stopped over at the Smithsonian American History Museum to see how they were going on the large American flag ( called the Stars and Stripes) that hung over Ft. McHenery. It is so frail that they have it in a sealed display room & are trying to clean and take off the old backing that was sewn on it in earlier times). It is so weak that it will never be able to be hung on the wall there again. They have to figure another way to display it. I'm also going back into the city tomorrow with a different friend, to go to some other museums & then out to lunch with friends on Friday. See , I eat three good meals a day, but walk and exercise a lot of it off.
