"Stitched: the Movie"

I watched the movie "Stitched" on my computer last evening. It's a very enjoyable 1 hr 12 min about competitive quilting, featuring Caryl Bryer Fallert, Hollis Chatelaine, and Randall Cook, and the shows in Paducah and Houston. There are other big-name quilters, too, such as Sharon Schamber.

It's different from "Why Quilts Matter," the PBS series. (Rather than wait for the broadcast I bought on DVD and promptly watched it in its entirety.) Seeing 9-half hour episodes back-to-back means repetition of introductory material. Since "Stitched" is a single production it has better continuity. Both will appeal to quiltmakers. I wonder how non-quilters would see them--"what a crazy obsession these people have," the same way that I would watch some of the extreme hobby/sport shows on cable TV.

Anyway, "Stitched" is available for free online viewing through tomorrow. Here is info on how to get it. I don't know how "private" the link is. :)
