I'm guessing that most of you are not from Texas and don't subscribe to the Texas Monthly magazine; it regularly features articles on Texas politics, characters, music, whatever. This month there's a couple of articles about quilters. I'm sending the link to the website, and if you scroll down to the bottom of the page there is a narrated video about the Houston quilt show. I thought you might enjoy it. I did. Michelle

That was awesome! Thanks for sharing, Michelle! Texas Monthly is a great magazine...my dh used to travel to Texas on business and would bring home the latest edition....
It was interesting to have a novice's perspective on the quilt show.......the part about the longarms.....where he was actually looking at a dsm on a frame.....not quite the same.
I think for the "non quilter", this is a great introduction!!!!

I enjoyed the video very much. I would love to go down there one of these years. I thought the fellow speaking on the video was interesting that he didn't seem to be as aware of the world that his mother was part of and yet was probably exposed to it as he grew up. A classic case of gender segregation. Thanks, for posting the link.

Thanks, Michelle! I did enjoy it -- it was interesting to see some of the things I saw there, but from a non-quilter's point of view. :)
Nice to have viewed this. thank you! But I wonder a bit about his comment that the one quilter "is not your typical quilter". Gee, I didn't know there was a typical quilter!
