Thoughts on my rctq BOM project

I've finished three applique blocks and thinking about what fabrics to use for the fourth block and it occurs to me that I have to put them all together later on. I know I will be using a straight setting, but how to tie them all together worried me a little. Sure I could use sashing strips but I'm making two other quilts with sashing so I'd like to have one that is different. I thought of alternate blocks in a print since all my applique is going to be on a solid background. I thought that surely I had something in my stash that would work. I went in the other room and my eyes instantly lit upon the perfect print. Funny, I don't know where this cheerful floral print came from, but it has all the right colors and since it nearly jumped off the shelf at me I'll use it. Whatever is left after cutting alternate blocks will be combined with a nice calm green fabric for the backing. I am so sure of this combination that I put the fabric into the BOM project bag of applique fabrics.

Amazing. Here I thought I would need to go shopping for fabrics for this new project, and I've got everything I really need in my stash already. All I needed to do was listen to the stash.
