thread netting

A couple of years ago -- someone from RCTQ provided a link to a website where I purchased a couple of yards of a plastic yellow "net tube" that you cut to length and then you pull it over the spools of thread -- which helps control the thread ends. I'm about out and would like to find more -- but can't remember where I purchased it from online.



Does this sound familiar to anyone? or do you know of another source of a similar product? I love it! and haven't had much luck looking online.

Kate,

You can get a knit bandage or surgical tube at almost any drug store. The pharmacy at Target will special order it for you and usually only takes a day or two for them to receive it. It runs about $10 for around

25 yards and lasts forever. Not the yellow nylon stuff but works very well. Here's a link to Amazon to show you what I'm talking about, not sure exactly what it's called.

Are those clear -- so you can see the color of the thread well? That's one of the things I like about the yellow plastic -- you can clearly see the color / shade of the thread -- without removing the net.

I'll have to check these out and see what they are like.

I have a roll of this type of stuff and I like it a LOT.

You just cut a length about 1 inch longer than the circumference of your thread and wrap it around.

Apparently it's the same as clear table protector plastic that you can buy by the yard - I bet that would be even cheaper per spool of thread.

I use that 'by the yard' table protecting plastic stuff on my spools. Works great! Bonnie, in Middletown, VA
