update

I'd like to say I'm feeling a little better each day, but it's actually going quite a bit slower than that. However, I'm happy to report that I am not sick anymore. I'm being very careful with my immune system, and also not over-stressing the adrenaline system. Hopefully what feels like a plateau has a slightly upward movement to it. Hugs back,

Hi Karen! In 1997 I had some serious health problems, which resulted in becoming disabled. When the chit hit the fan, I also had a "nervous breakdown." Some things were just too much to handle. My whole family was affected, and our lives were drastically changed. I'm just now feeling better, physically, mentally, and emotionally. It takes time. Maybe a lot of time. But I can assure you that you will eventually regain some strength and optimism. I'm a different person today, too. It hasn't been easy. I never expected it and wasn't prepared.

The most difficult thing was accepting that things will never be like they were. I've had to rebuild my life. My husband and I got married in 1968, and separated 5 years ago. I don't know what will happen with our marriage. Neither of us has filed for divorce, but I can't see us living together either. I'm not going to worry about it anymore. I've gained some independence and happiness back, but it's been very difficult.

I hope you let yourself get all the rest you need, in every way, not just physically. Don't give up. You may be different, but that doesn't mean you aren't a good person, with talents, abilities, and things to contribute. You can learn to like the new you, too. :)

Take care, honey.

We'll just both take our 'issues' and wrap 'em in our Hugs and get better, whattya say? Thanks for your hugs, thoughts, prayers, friendship, and your note.

Oh, Rene, I'm sorry it has been such a long haul for you. {{{{hugs}}}} That's how it was for me the first time (minus the hubby issues). I didn't know what was happening to me, and I was very frightened. I had small children at the time, and had to watch as other women cared for my children, my home, my laundry, my cooking, etc. I was young and it was awful for me then. It's no picnic now, but I've learned a lot since then. Thank you for sharing with me, and for your care and concern.
