I love the Hummel blocks! Are they from an embroidery machine? If so -- that alone might make it worth the investment for me! :-)

Yes, I did it on my embroidery machine. They are a multi-platform pattern sold my Pfaff.

Loved the embroideries in your Mom's quilt . . . . . but you know what's really scary? When you look at someone's quilt from the other side of the globe and exclaim "I have some of that material!" LOL
