I mean use - only spell check doest read my mind and sees a perfectly acceptable word LOL

I have the backing clamped in place now getting ready to do the batting next - we are talking a 245 cm (96 inches or there abouts) square quilt here so it goes over all edges of the table - even when folded out all the way (but not much ).

I also pin baste - the saving grace this am when I was removing them ! the problem may be that my floor is just too small for such a large quilt :-(

this is my second go at pin basting - the last one was a WH

I dislike the quilting bit too actually LOL now if only it was acceptable to have someone else do my show quilts and to have the $ to pay for it!

thanks!

ow, now I know what you mean with clamps......I did the backing on the floor with ducktape then the batting, also with ducktape and the top with stone weights....

that's how I started but really the floor is too small for the top so it didn't go as well as it looked like it had I suspect :-S

Really, with the clamps you will be better of! At least, I like this. I have been known to do all sorts, particularly when in too much of a rush to remove the sewing machine from the table before basting, but really, it does pay to try to do it properly.

Let us know how you get on with the clamps.

Hanne in London PS - should have guessed the sue-use confusion - time to go home, surely?

well here to a better result this time :-) at least I emptied the table and cleaned it first ;-)

yep time to go home - for a week's worth of therapeutic quilting ;-) (on the bosses pay of course LOL)

I can so relate to this, but you did the right thing by putting it aside for now LOL If it were me the air would have turned blue!!

Good luck on finishing it up!

Awwww, bummer, Jessamy! I know just how you feel (and please don't ask me how many times I've had to unstitch an unintentional pleat) so I will send good quilting thoughts your way.

Coulda been worse Jessamy.....at least you hadn't finished quilting

Dee > I was happily chuntering along quilting my show quilt when I decided to take

I HATE it when that happens! You didn't rip out all your hair? Kick the wall? Smash a couple of dishes? Okay, okay, I never do any of those things either, but I sure feel like it when I quilt in a pleat.

You stole then thought right out of my head!

Me too!

Better luck with re-quilting!

nope none of the above - I just wailed to all of you instead LOL but then I

*knew* you would all understand :-)

if it had been up to me I would have left it for weeks - however due to the deadline I gritted my teeth and basted it last night - nice and flat :-D

Me too!

** me three ! Better luck with re-quilting!

Thanks!
