Been watching this item on Ebay. It's only 10 minutes away. Wanted it more for the cabinet than the machine, but they dropped the price $100 so it's mine. No idea about the machine an old Singer 227P - will it make a lovely doorstop or be a useful adjunct to my MC6500 and Janome overlocker?
Well, he's got 6 geetarrs...sooo I have a new machine - any comments?

Thanks, FayOh my, looks like Santa came early for you, Fay. That is a very nice cabinet, and the Singer looks pretty cool. By the number, I am guessing it is rather old. I don't know anything about it, but I really like the slanted shape.... looks like a rocket! I hope Irene and Taria chime in with information about that model. PAT in VA/USA

Well, here's my thought -- if he has SIX guitars, you should be able to have at least that many sewing machines, and perhaps more. After all, you produce something useful, enjoyable, beautiful, and lasting with the sewing machines, right?
And it's not far to go to pick it up either, almost walking distance. It's not very often that Horn Cabinets go for that price on ebay.

You go girl! That cabinet is great and a super deal. As for the machine, one can never have too many lovely doorstops... ~:o)

What a super deal on the cabinet - congratulations on the find.
That is one of the fine all-metal older Singers it will make a great back up machine for you :)

Well the 6500 fits in my other Horn and it's smaller than the new one. Have just got it home, but had visitors all afternoon, so no time to explore yet. All the dishes are hurling insults at me from the sink. :( Fay
